Prestigio, one of Microsoft’s Windows Phone partners, has finally pushed its second smartphone into the market, the MultiPhone 8400 DUO.

For those who don’t remember, Prestigio announced back in June that it would launch two Windows Phone handsets in the following months.

The MultiPhone 8500 DUO got released in late July and is now available for purchase for €160 ($210) outright, but the second device, Prestigio MultiPhone 8400 DUO, was nowhere to be seen.

Well, it looks like it took Prestigio about a month to bring the MultiPhone 8400 DUO to the market, but that was to be expected since the company confirmed at the time of the announcement that this particular affordable smartphone wouldn’t be available until August.

The good news is Windows Phone fans can now order the MultiPhone 8400 DUO directly from Prestigio’s webstore for only €79 outright, which is about $105.

Unfortunately, customers will also have to pay for shipping, which doesn’t come cheap when compared to the smartphone’s outright price. Shipping charges start at about €10 ($13), but depending on where in the world you want Prestigio to send it, you will have to pay more.

Prestigio MultiPhone 8400 DUO is aimed at emerging markets, as well as customers who want a Windows Phone device as their second phone.

It does come with the new version of Windows Phone 8.1, but given the fact that it’s not a Nokia smartphone, you won’t be getting any Lumia-specific features.

Nevertheless, at this price, MultiPhone 8400 DUO could be a great deal for those who want to try out Microsoft’s new operating system but can’t afford a mid-range handset.

Prestigio MultiPhone 8400 DUO is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, an Adreno 302 graphics processing unit and only 512MB of RAM.

This is one of the few downsides of the smartphone, as due to the low amount of RAM, users won’t be able to run all apps and games in the Windows Phone Store.

On the positive side, Prestigio’s budget-friendly smartphone packs an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while on the front there’s a VGA camera for video calls and selfies.

Furthermore, the MultiPhone 8400 DUO sports a decent 4-inch IPS WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It’s also powered by a removable 2000 mAh battery and offers dual-SIM capability.

In the same piece of news, Prestigio offers no less than 24 months of warranty for the MultiPhone 8400 DUO, which means you won’t have to worry about it for the next 2 years.
