14 DAY TRIAL // The technical specifications of the newly announced PSP E-1000 model have been reveled by Sony, showcasing that two major features were cut from the regular PSP model, the wireless connectivity and the stereo sound output, to make it cheaper to produce.
Sony impressed quite a lot of Gamescom 2011 attendants last week when it confirmed that a cheaper version of its PlayStation Portable handheld console would be released onto the European market, retailing for just 99 Euros.
That dazzled the audience, but the company immediately admitted that it had to cut a few features in order to lower the price by such a big margin.
At that time, we only knew that the wireless Internet connection was eliminated, but the full list of specifications has now been revealed, via CVG, by the Japanese company, showcasing another major missing feature, in the form of the stereo sound output.
As opposed to the regular PSP-3000 model, still on sale for 140 euros, which has two speakers, the PSP E-1000 only has one, so players should plug in their headphones if they really want a pleasant audio experience while enjoying games on the device.
Besides the missing Wi-Fi and stereo sound, not much else was changed from the regular PSP, besides the exterior design, which has been tweaked on the E-1000 to differentiate it from its pricier cousin.
