A special ghost image of Arno appears when he's evaded enemies

Ubisoft has offered even more details about the gameplay in its upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity title, confirming that elements from the Splinter Cell franchise have made their way into the new action adventure experience, specifically in the stealth aspect.

Assassin's Creed Unity received a stunning gameplay demonstration at E3 2014 last week and, since then, Ubisoft has shared plenty of details about the game itself, its new protagonist, its new story, and the brand new cooperative mode that features different missions that can be completed with friends as part of the assassin brotherhood.

Now, a few more gameplay details have been shared by the publisher on the UbiBlog, in regards to the chases and the stealth systems employed by Unity.

Ubisoft already said that combat will no longer feature overpowered moves like the counter-kill, meaning players will more often than not run away from a brawl if the odds aren't in their favors.

"As in certain other open-world games, escaping pursuers is a matter of breaking their line of sight (which you can also do by ducking into buildings) — and you’ll know you’ve succeeded when you see a ghostly image of Arno pop up in his wake, indicating his last known position (yes, exactly like Splinter Cell)," the studio said.

"Your pursuers, whether blue-clad protectors (cops) or red-clad aggressors (enemies), will then hunt around that position, meaning if you can leave the scene or stay hidden while they do, you’re in the clear. We recommend sticking to the rooftops as the dev team has deemed them the Assassin’s hunting grounds, and cleared them of all patrolling guards."

In order to avoid overly aggressive enemies, Ubisoft advises players to go in the new stealth mode that can be used by protagonist Arno, as in this new stance he can crouch behind or even duck between cover points.

He can use stealth to get closer to targets and unsuspecting enemies but bear in mind that, if you're spotted while staying in cover, the alert will immediately be raised.

Bear in mind that this isn't a game-breaking thing, as thanks to the already-detailed Adaptive Mission Mechanic, your goal will simply change to a new one depending on the circumstances.

You can expect to hear much more about Assassin's Creed Unity as we get closer to its release this October for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

As of yet, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners are sore out of luck, as Ubisoft has yet to announce any sort of installment of the series for their platforms.
