Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan don’t think rebooting the hit TV show is a good idea

This might sound like a good idea on paper but it’s everything but: CBS has ordered a pilot for a reboot of “Charmed,” which ran for 8 very successful seasons on the WB, but neither the original stars nor the fans believe such a project should ever see the light of day.

Perhaps inspired by the wave of witch-related shows, CBS is looking to get in on a piece of the action by bringing the three sisters of “Charmed” back to the small screen again, without any of the original stars appearing in the new version.

You can imagine how fans reacted to this on social media: not only should there be no “Charmed” reboot, but it should definitely not be made without the girls who made it such a hit.

Alyssa Milano, a regular castmember, believes the reboot is unnecessary, writing on Twitter, “The thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is... it just... it feels like yesterday. It feels too close.”

She’s being delicate in saying it should not be made. Rose McGowan, who came to replace Shannen Doherty after she left slamming the door (only figuratively), is more direct.

“lame lame lame lamertons. They really are running out of ideas in Hollywood,” Rose says on her Twitter page.

So how do you feel about the reboot of “Charmed”? Will you be tuning in if it ever gets picked up for a full season?
