Charlize Theron is using the one good thing to come out of the Sony Hack, confirmation of the pay discrepancy between Hollywood’s leading men and ladies, to even things out for her next project, “The Huntsman,” the follow-up to the 2012 release “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

“The Huntsman” is a prequel and will focus on the story of the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and Ravenna the evil queen (Theron). Kristen Stewart won’t return, because Snow White is no longer part of the story – and the decision to not include her could have something to do with the fact that she slept with the director of the first film, Rupert Sanders.

The scandal was so big that rumor had it the franchise was killed by it, despite the fact that the first film showed a lot of potential and made a killing at the box office.

Charlize, apparently, will make over $10 million (€8.43 million) for the film, plus get a percentage of the final profits. “Charlize insisted that she get paid the same money as Chris. She has a great track record, so she got the same deal,” a source familiar with the situation reveals to Page Six.

It is believed that Charlize’s equal paycheck (the fact that she asked for it and was given it) is a result of the controversy around the Sony Hack, when one email from Sony confirmed that Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence were paid less than Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner for “American Hustle,” even though they got fairly the same amount of screentime.

“The Huntsman” will be out in theaters in April 2016 and if she does as good a job as in the first film, Charlize will be worth every penny.
