14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier this year, word got out in the media that one of Hollywood’s golden couples, Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend, had called it quits after 9 years of dating. The other night, the gorgeous actress stepped out for dinner with former co-star Keanu Reeves, and ended the night by kissing and hugging, not knowing they were being photographed.
TMZ has both video and pics of the mini-make out session, as it calls it, and believes that this is the closest thing to a confirmation we’ll get for a while that the two are more than just friends. In fact, they might actually be dating in secret, word on the web has it, and have chosen to keep their romance out of the media for now because they want to see first if it works, before making their first public appearance together as a couple.
“Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron didn’t just share a romantic dinner at a Beverly Hills restaurant last night – they also shared a really intimate goodbye hug and kiss on the way out. As the two walked out of Bouchon restaurant, the two locked in a really snug embrace and then tenderly swapped some cheek kisses. It wasn’t exactly a makeout session - but it wasn’t the way you’d send off your grandmother either. UPDATE: More evidence – when they hugged each other goodbye, Charlize’s hands are clearly under Keanu’s jacket!” TMZ writes with clear excitement at the idea that the two may be dating.
A video of the so-called kiss is also available online but it’s far from confirming a romance, regardless of how much some fans would love to see it happen. The clip, shot by the paparazzi outside the restaurant, does show the two sharing hugs and kissing each other but, in all fairness, it could very well be two very close friends saying goodbye and not a romantic thing. Moreover, if the two were dating in secret, why would they blow their cover by stepping out of the restaurant and making sure their little PDA moment is captured by cameras across the street, celebrity bloggers ask.
Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves starred together in “The Devil’s Advocate” and “Sweet November,” both movies in which they played lovers. Their romance – granted ongoing reports are accurate – would mirror their onscreen love in real life. At the time, as far as the world knows, neither Charlize nor Keanu is in a stable relationship.
