With so much time still to go until Chris Nolan’s third and final “Batman” film comes out, new details on it are starting to emerge in the media. “The Dark Knight Rises” will include a cameo from a character fans believed dead.

He appeared in “Batman Begins” and he was quite the baddie. He’ll be back to cause problems in the upcoming film, Digital Spy reports.

Played by Liam Neeson, Ra’s Al Ghul seemed to have met his end in the battle scene in “Batman Begins,” but it would seem that Nolan wanted him back.

Even more, reports indicate that Neeson has already shot his cameo.

“Christopher Nolan’s superhero sequel allegedly welcomed Liam Neeson to the London set on Monday where he filmed scenes as villain Ra’s Al Ghul,” the British publication writes.

“Neeson filmed for the day before jetting off to New York for the premiere of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark,” says the same e-zine.

“Ra’s Al Ghul appeared to die at the climax of Batman Begins, but in the DC Comics mythology the character has been resurrected in a chemical pool dubbed the Lazarus Pit,” Digital Spy mentions, underlining that Nolan stayed true to the mythology in bringing him back.

Further details are not available at the moment but, given that Gary Oldman recently said that Nolan would bring the Batman story “back around” to the first film in the trilogy, it makes sense to have Ra’s Al Ghul there too.

“The Social Network star Josh Pence has already signed up to appear as a younger version of Ra’s,” Digital Spy says.

On the other hand, since Neeson was only on set for a day, one can easily assume his cameo is very short – possibly just a tie-in to introduce the younger version of the same character.

“The Dark Knight Rises” isn’t out in theaters until 2012, so make sure you keep an eye on this space for more details until then.
