Based on the success of the “Wolverine” films, the producers of “X-Men” are now turning another one of the mutant cast to turn into a stand-alone franchise. The name that's popped up sure wasn't on anyone's guess list – Gambit.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, producer Lauren Schuler Donner revealed that she would love to do a movie about Gambit starring Chaning Tatum in the main part. She's already made plans about the potential success of the movie and even considered the script.

The plans seem to have already been set into motion as Cinemablend explains the producer already approached Tatum, “I'm dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum. That doesn't have to be a great big movie. It's a thief in New Orleans, it's a whole different story. He's on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He's such a sweetheart.”

This sounds like a sound plan for the X-Men franchise which is quickly running out of scripts after “X-Men: Apocalypse.” So far, all we heard were rumors about a possible Deadpool movie and even an “X-Men vs Fantastic Four” movie.
