For quite some time, the Need For Speed franchise has been the benchmark for any racing game that appeared. But, sadly, in the last few years, things haven't been going so well for the series, as its iterations have begun to decline in both sales and quality.

While it didn't gain critical acclaim, NFS Undercover, the latest installment, managed to sell quite a bit of copies, prompting the team at EA's Black Box studio to continue development on new pieces of downloadable content, in order for the players to have an even greater experience with the title that they bought.

As such, the Challenge Series DLC was announced a few weeks ago, promising to deliver some exciting new features, cars and race modes to players who had been itching to return to the Tri-City area in Need For Speed Undercover.

Now, after appearing for the PlayStation 3 version, the patch that also contains this add-on has been released for PC users, and is available for download right here, on Softpedia. Besides improvements to the overall gameplay and fixing quite a few problems, this update will deliver 60 new races, spanning all types, from circuits to sprints and the new Highway Wars and Highway Checkpoint.

The developers have estimated that it will take an average player seven hours to complete it, thus unlocking quite a few rewards in terms of new cars, like the Battle Machine, Speed Machine and Dominator. After completing the challenge series once, a new difficulty setting will be revealed, the pro one, making a lot of competitors eager to go through all the races once more.

Don't forget that, with this patch, you will be able to purchase the Boss Car Bundle DLC from the EA store and add those new cars to your copy of NFS Undercover. Download this free add-on and share with us your experience by leaving a comment.
