Memory manufacturer Walton Chaintech today announced the availability of "new generation" memory modules in its Apogee series. The modules are comprised of 8 x 128 Mb chips running at 1066 MHz. The APOGEE GT DDR2 memory is the company's response to consumers' increasing need for high quality RAM memory for running the nowadays software applications.

According to the company, the APOGEE GT DDR2 1066 128Mbx8 memory modules are energy-efficient and offer higher system reliability than the common memory offerings already on the market. The new memory module architecture ensures that the heat is efficiently dissipated from the chips' core to the exterior. Moreover, the chips' layout reduce the power consumption more than 8%. At the same time, the APOGEE GT DDR2 1066 128Mbx8 memory modules operate on multiple voltage, from the average 1.8 volt to 2.1 volt.

The new generation of integrated circuits are more flexible and reliable even when they are overclocked for extreme speeds. The memory modules come in kits of either 2GB or 4GB, depending on users' needs. The dual-channel parts have undergone thorough quality testing to ensure their perfect compatibility.

"Also worth mentioning is that they are produced using the best quality chips from leading DRAM Fab, and are required to complete a high temperature burn-in test to meet our published specifications. With extensive expertise in memory module manufacturing, the APOGEE GT DDR2 1066 is guaranteed to satisfy the needs of the most demanding gamers and enthusiasts," reads the press release.

The manufacturer has not released the full technical specifications for the new memory modules yet, such as CAS latency or overclockability, but I don't expect them to reach surprising values. The only thing that stuns a potential buyer is their red, green and black combination on the comb-like heatspreader.

There is no word on pricing or availability yet, but that's not important. Instead, you might note "Walton Chaintech's long-term commitment and continuous efforts to provide the best solutions for gaming enthusiasts." Is there something wrong with their PR officers, or is it just me?
