The EX Volume can hold two 3.5-inch SATA hard disk drive units

External storage cases have become quite common, but they aren't in too high a number yet, so Century Japan should find at least some buyers for the CRNS35U3MR "EX Volume".

The short version of the description is that the case is a device which can hold two 3.5-inch SATA HDDs.

The slightly longer version is that those two 3.5-inch SATA HDDs can be set up in RAID 0 (performance) or RAID 2 (data redundancy), but may also operate individually, as though you had two different USB mass storage devices connected to the PC.

Idle times (5 minutes by default) will cause a slowdown of the platters, to preserve power.

Needless to say, the USB 3.0 interface is used for the connection.

June is when sales are set to begin, for the price of 14,800 JPY ($186 / 148 Euro). An AC power cable will be included in the package (the power supply is internal).
