Company plans to sell a case that makes Apple handsets virtually indestructible

Case manufacturer Cellpig has launched a promo to entice customers into buying their Cellhelmet case, promising to replace their iPhone 4S altogether if it breaks inside the case.

The company still needs to raise some funds before production can begin, so customers may have to pre-order their Cellhelmets on faith.

But if everything goes according to plan, Cellpig claims it is the first in the world to offer a replacement of your handset if the case doesn’t keep it intact.

“The world's first and only case to guarantee the iPhone 4/4S inside (for US & Canadian residents),” says the company. “If your phone breaks inside of a cellhelmet - we'll repair it. If it's beyond repair - we'll replace it. Guaranteed.”

The Cellhelment also eliminates monthly cell phone insurance agreements, says the manufacturer. They’ll even service jailbroken iPhones, something Apple will refuse to do under warranty.

The cases are made from thermoplastic polyurethane rubber (TPU). “It will not stretch or lose its shape, yet it will hold up to drops and falls, time and time again.  It has the feeling of a hard rubber, yet it's not rigid like plastic,” says Cellpig.

The product comes with two interchangeable backplates, and customers can choose between pink/purple, green/blue or black/white. Access to every port and button is guaranteed, without having to remove the case.

“The cellhelmet project is currently underway,” states Cellpig. “We expect our mold to be at our facility on March 8th, 2012. If all goes as planned, we will begin production on March 10th. We need your help to raise an additional $10,000, which will be used for our first run of production and a few budget overages that we have met along the way.”
