Almost a year ago, word got out that legendary singer Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil were expecting, which would have meant that the two would finally get the chance to expand their family. Sadly, Celine lost the baby but said that she would continue trying for one with in vitro fertilization. Now, her rep confirms for People magazine that she is pregnant.

Not only that, but it looks like Celine is expecting twins nonetheless. The singer and Rene already have a son, but have always maintained they wanted a larger family, which, unfortunately, was not possible as she was not able to conceive. After miscarrying last year, Celine said she and Rene were not losing hope, despite the fact that she was at an age where it was harder to conceive.

“Celine Dion’s dream to expand her family has come true. The singer, 42, is pregnant with twins after undergoing her sixth in-vitro fertilization attempt and turning to acupuncture to improve her chances of a pregnancy, her rep Kim Jakwerth confirms,” People writes. Indeed, this is a clear case of how hope dies last and how good things can happen if one just tries hard enough, it’s being said.

“Dion, mom to 9-year-old son Rene-Charles, is 14 weeks along. She will find out the gender of the twins next month. ‘We’re ecstatic,’ her husband / manager Rene Angelil tells People. ‘Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing!’” the mag further says.

In November 2009, after it was revealed that Celine was not pregnant, Angelil was telling the media he and his wife were putting all their faith in medicine and “the stars,” as we also informed you at the time. Both seem to have worked to their advantage.
