Not wanting to be left behind by its competitors on the PC peripheral market, Zowie Gear has put together a new keyboard, or perhaps we should call it a modified keyboard.

After all, the Celeritas is not exactly a new keyboard. Instead, it has been up for sale for a while, and apparently, it has been experiencing success.

Zowie is now increasing the size of its potential customer base by introducing a white version of the normally black peripheral.

Called Celeritas White, the keyboard has two sets of key caps, made of different materials. One is nylon, and one is ABS plastic.

The nylon ones are black, but the ones made of ABS plastic are as white as the rest of the product.

Customers will be able to decide for themselves which they prefer, based on the feel.

In both cases, though, the keys use MX-Red switches, which both make the keyboard more responsive than others, and provide tactile feedback.

“After listening to the community we have produced a limited edition version of the Zowie Celeritas in white with MX-Red switches,” Zowie Gear said in its press release.

The key caps aren't the only ones that determine comfort. The “special coating” on the entire product adds to it too.

That said, there are some other perks that users should be aware of, in addition to the 18K gold plated mechanical switches: 6 keys anti-ghosting through USB, the ability to change the "Windows"-key to "Ctrl," the presence of multimedia controls (a button swaps between the F1-F12 roles and multimedia control roles), and Zowie RTR technology, which provides 4 levels of repeat-response (normal, 2x, 4x, 8x).

Sales of the Zowie Gear Celeritas White keyboard should already be underway for the price of $129.99 / €129.99. Buyers will be allowed to select between American, German, French, English, Japanese and Taiwanese layouts.
