The iTunes staff didn't make anything of this event, so we decided to create a list of the most interesting stuff in the AppStore and iBookstore to help you celebrate that night with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 was the first spaceflight that landed humans on the Moon.

Leaving aside all the controversies surrounding this flight, 45 years later you can learn everything about that special moment in Space History with a touch of your finger.

If you want to see a documentary about Apollo 11, make sure to watch this episode of Modern Marvels. They describe the Apollo 11 as mankind's greatest achievement of the 20th century. "In ten years, America went from rocketing monkeys into space to landing a man on the moon."

There are just a few iPhone apps that will tell you more about that moment. You can actually buy an app created by Buzz Aldrin that talks about the flight, Moon Exploration or Space Tourism and Private Ventures.

If you want to land the space shuttle yourself, try "Apollo 11: The Game"  and "Bean Bag Kids – Apollo 11." You may also play some games that take the space shuttles and put them against UFO spaceships.

One of the most beautiful apps related to this mission is called "The Apollo Story" and it has all the audio and video recordings from the landing alongside pictures and information from that flight.

When it comes to music, who would have thought that there are over 200 songs related or named after the Apollo 11 mission. This list includes recordings of the discussions between the crew and Mission Control.

The most interesting collection of courses and documents about Apollo 11 can be found in the iTunes U section of the AppStore. The famous line "The Eagle has Landed" and other history videos and audio recordings are here.

If you prefer to read all about it, there's a small collection of books in the iBookstore related to this matter. You can even find kids poetry books or audiobooks on the same subject. You can also subscribe to some space-related podcasts and download the episodes dedicated to this event.
