Those of you who were hoping that the Ceilo Redfly mobile companion would become compatible with the Opera Mobile 9.5 beta browser have now a reason to rejoice. It seems that Celio has released some new driver builds that are able to allow the device to support the Opera 9.5 beta release of the browser, which is already compatible with a wide range of mobile phones.

Besides offering compatibility with the web browser, the new drivers also offer a range of performance improvements and bug fixes, among which USB performance and speed enhancements can be spotted. Another thing that has been improved is the elimination of some causes that affected the Bluetooth connectivity and signal strength driving the connection to be interrupted.

The connections are said to sometime drop due to a potential conflict between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the new drivers partially correct this issue. The REDFLY driver comes with basic support for Direct Draw, this way allowing the applications that used the interfaces to run properly. At the same time, the REDFLY.exe has been re-factored and it now comes as a service under the operating system, a move meant to improve the stability of the device.

In addition to the improvements brought by this driver build, it seems that other enhancements are also in the works for future updates. Among the things that the developers are currently working on we can count support for the HTC TouchFLO interface, which might be turned off programmatically in case it is enabled in the phone.

Other things under works include support for Sony XPERIA Panels Choice menu, which currently doesn't work when connected to REDFLY, fixing the Sony XPERIA Phone Dialer window, which currently does not show the number dialed, support for Samsung Themes 1 and 2. At the same time, it seems that the Samsung Today and Samsung Widgets need to be turned off in the Omnia Settings menu, while the dialer application on the Omnia will not render correctly in case it is in portrait mode when connected to REDFLY.
