Among the most interesting new products that have been showcased at the CeBIT 2009 show in Hanover, Germany in the past few days we were able to spot a nice series of motherboards from different players in the industry. Among them, Gigabyte was also present with its latest innovations in the area, and we had the chance to take a look at its new parts.

Some of the most impressive motherboard concepts showcased at CeBIT this year are those based on Intel's LGA-1156 supportive P55 chipset, and Gigabyte also has such a mobo on display at the exposition. The board we are talking about is dubbed GA-IBP, and it is one of the first such parts unveiled by the motherboard maker.

The IBP part in its name stands for “Ibex Peak,” which most of you might already know to be the codename of the platform. The GA-IBP comes with features like four DDR3 DIMM slots for dual-channel memory, as well as connections for Intel's Flexible Display Interface (FDI) and three PCI-E x16 (electrical x16, x8, x8, which can be rearranged depending on slot usage).

The new GA-IBP also features the single-chip P55 chipset, while supporting both NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFireX technologies. Other specifications of the motherboard include six internal SATA ports, onboard audio, which is HDCP-compliant, as well as dual-Gigabit LAN. The motherboard also offers Power/Reset/ClrCMOS buttons, meant to facilitate user operations.

According to Gigabyte, the new GA-IBP mobo is able to offer lower temperature and better overclocking capabilities provided by its revolutionary design. At the same time, it includes support for Intel's next-generation microprocessors, while also supporting Blu-ray playback through its high-quality 106dB SNR ALC889A HD audio. This way, users will be able to enjoy rich home theater surround sound, says the company.
