Google Maps helps with the politics

The time for caucus is here and now. Iowa has been known to be the "pivotal event for each White House hopeful" (Brittany Bohnet, Elections Program Manager, on the Google Lat Long Blog), so there's a reason there's so much media hype surrounding it. An Iowa Caucus YouTube Channel, the recently launched Elections section of Google News, and so on, all prove that point.

If you're into politics at the level of burning the respective section of the newspapers and then injecting it into your veins (and by that, I meant to say that you live and breathe the candidates' lives and their personal beliefs in any matter and problem), then you can't go on without knowing firsthand what the Iowa caucus has decided. After all, almost every candidate's campaign has been focused on that state, for about a month now, and the results there will set the precedent by which other states will make their own voting decision.

"The map displays live news and events from across the state and, beginning tonight, both the Democratic and Republican parties of Iowa will be partnering with us to present real-time caucus results by county and by party. Users across America will be able to watch a stream of results show up on Google Maps at the same time as these important decisions in Iowa are being made", Bohnet says.

The political parties will, of course, be working with Google on this, because they are also interested on getting the information out as loud and clear as possible, so the information will be the most accurate possible and everybody will be able to access the results online, as soon as the Iowans finish caucusing.

It has already begun. What comes next is up to you! Does that make you feel politically responsible for your future? No? Then, I can't help you further.
