Dell is adopting a more classical standard when it comes to its enterprise business

Taiwanese chassis manufacturer Catcher Technology seems to be Dell’s new best friend. Orders for metal chassis coming from the PC maker seem to be making up 80% of Catcher’s overall shipments, sources familiar with the matter quoted by DigiTimes are saying.

Dell apparently revised its plans of rolling out enterprise notebooks that featured plastic or fiber glass-reinforced plastic chassis. Instead, it made a drastic change and decided to push for the classier high-end metal look.

Dell is also expected to drastically change its overall model of doing business, after becoming privatized. The company will probably start to focus more and more on the enterprise market, gradually moving away from the consumer one.

Other major clients for whom Catcher is providing support are notable brand vendors like Apple, HTC and Sony.
