Pickles the cat is bigger than some dogs, owners say they have trouble picking him up

Had Pickles the cat been around at the time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, and had a T. Rex felt lonely enough to start thinking about getting a pet, there is little doubt that the oversized reptile would have chosen to adopt this oversized kitten.

As easily noticeable in the picture next to this article, Pickles is nothing like the cats folks are used to seeing and petting.

Granted, all the right anatomical parts, i.e. the paws, the tail, the pointy ears, and the whiskers, are there. However, they are a tad bigger than those of an ordinary cat.

Not to beat about the bush, Pickles measures about 3 feet (roughly 0.9 meters) from its nose to the tip of its tail. Besides, it weighs an impressive 21 pounds (a little over 9.5 kilograms).

The good news is that, because of its length, nobody would ever dare call him fat.

According to Daily Mail, Pickles' size is the reason why, for a considerable period, the cat had no family and was therefore forced to live on the streets.

The same source tells us that, just recently, the cat was rescued, nicknamed “Catasaurus Rex,” and put up for adoption on the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' website.

Andrew Milicia and his girlfriend Emily Zarvos chanced to see pictures of the oversized moggy, and decided to offer it a home.

They were chosen from around 50 other people, and soon enough received permission to pick up Pickles and take him home with them.

“It didn't take him long to make himself at home and now he takes up most of the couch when he's laid out,” Andrew told the press.

“He doesn't realize his size so he'll knock things over all the time – he's so clumsy. But it's like so hard to be mad at him - he thinks he's just like a little kitten still,” he added.

Andrew and Emily say that, although they sometimes have trouble keeping Pickles in their arms, they have absolutely no intention of parting with him.
