Two games into one by The Behemoth

Small game studios aren't in a very good situation right now because of the very tough financial climate. We've already seen companies like Factor 5 or Free Radical being shut down, and the forecasts for even larger ones like Electronic Arts or Sony aren't very positive, as they have both announced layoffs and cost-cutting measures in order to withstand the recession.

But such isn't the case with The Behemoth, a quite successful small San Diego-based independent developer. Its first two games, Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, both gained critical acclaim from industry analysts and became extremely popular with the gamer community because of their fun stories and very innovative gameplay, both providing a great experience.

Now it seems that the company isn't resting on its laurels and already has another game in heavy development. The announcement was made by the co-owner of the company and lead designer Dan Paladin, who revealed on The Behemoth Blog that the feedback from the testing team had been very positive and that future details would arrive in time.

“We’ve been prototyping a new title. A new game, YES!! Sorry, I can’t tell you what it is yet! I can tell you though that we are off to a very strong & solid start. The game has proven to be a lot of fun for the people that we’ve shown! Perhaps we can start posting imagery later on and begin a guessing game about the game. It’s like two games in one! Maybe we’ll just flat out tell you, though, and ruin the guessing game.”

It seems that this game will be pretty good, and, considering the track record of the company, it will certainly attract a lot of people. Let's hope that it will follow in the line of Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers and that it will bring a very solid and interesting experience to any gamer out there. Until further announcements, it seems that we'll have to wait for quite some time.
