The FCC has approved the Casio Hitachi NX9200, the US version of the popular G'zOne from Casio.

Casio and Hitachi joined their efforts in the phone industry in 2004 and the result is this new phone which borrows the style and engineering from Casio's G-Shock watch line. The FCC documents include a Verizon logo so probably they will be the mobile's carrier.

Casio NX9200 is a clamshell CDMA phone with a stylish design, resistant to water and shocks. It comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, music player and a digital compass. In addition, the US version offers support for the EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) wireless radio broadband data standard and features a stub antenna.

The G'zOne has known a big success in Japan after its release in May 2005 and it has been waiting since its introduction in Korea in December 2006 to enter the US market.
