14 DAY TRIAL // Major carrier Verizon Wireless is about to push a new software update for all Casio G'zOne Commando devices. Although the operator already published the update's changelog on its official support site, it will take a few more days until it goes live.
It's likely that the new software update C771M110 for Casio G’zOne Commando will be pushed OTA (over the air), in stages.
This major maintenance update enables the device with the Wireless Alerting System and adds the long-awaited factory reset function.
Another important new feature added with the latest update is the mass storage mode which now works smoothly with Windows 7.
Other important changes mentioned in the official changelog include:
- Setup Wizard will no longer duplicate the “Set up your Google Account” step; - Skip and rewind buttons will remain active during video or audio playback; - Successfully set ringback tones for contacts; - Improvements in GPS when connected over Wi-Fi; - Device successfully wakes-up from Sleep Mode.
There are so many new features added and major bugs that have been addressed that one may wonder how is it that this phone even made it to the market.
The following messaging-related issues have been corrected as well:
- Exchange Active Sync (EAS) no longer downloads multiple copies of contacts; - Text messages will send properly when connected to Wi-Fi; - Deleted emails will sync from the users Exchange account.
It is also worth mentioning that the device will no longer force close when on a call via Bluetooth and another call comes in.
The Push to Talk feature has been improved, along with the transition between the Push to Talk call screen and the device Home Screen.
Once users flash the update, the device will only switch to speakerphone mode when Bluetooth is disconnected during a Push to Talk call.
Several applications and services have been updated or received some bug fixes as follows:
- The Follow Me avatar within VZ Navigator now functions properly; - VZ Navigator notifications announce properly in a mono Bluetooth headset; - Album artwork will display music purchased from iTunes; - Fixed Home App force close error; - Social Beat has been updated to version 2.1.22; - Calculator has been improved.
