Autopsy on Casey Johnson rules out suicide and foul play, cause of death still unknown

The body of 30-year-old socialite and heiress to the Johnson & Johnson empire, Casey Johnson, was found in her Los Angeles apartment the other day. An autopsy has already been performed on the star, ruling out foul play and suicide, but a cause of death could not be determined, as toxicology tests have still to be conducted, MTV News writes.

Though it is being widely circulated that Johnson had been dead for several days until her body was found, having presumably passed on the night of December 29, police are keeping mum on the issue. What is known so far, the LA County Coroner’s Office say, is that there was no visible trauma to the body, which means foul play was not the case. Authorities have also ruled out the possibility of suicide, even those reports in the media say that Johnson had had a very rough financial year, which included getting sued and having property impounded for failure to meet payments.

“It’s on a security hold,” Captain John Kades, spokesperson for the Coroner’s Office, says for MTV. “The cause of death is deferred until we get lab results and test results back, so we anticipate six to eight weeks before that is rendered. Any other details about the condition of the remains, or the residence or anything like that, we’re not releasing that right now. That I can confirm [that it was not foul play]. We did complete the autopsy and the anatomical findings show no evidence of trauma to the body,” Kades adds.

Celebrity website TMZ, on the other hand, has already spoken to many parties involved in the case, both friends of the late Johnson and investigators, and has learned that she suffered from diabetes and had been admitted to the hospital twice after falling into a diabetic coma. Insulin syringes were found in her home, together with many prescription pills, the same media outlet informs. Police, however, are refusing to make any comment or speculation on the possible cause of death or what they’ve found in Johnson’s apartment.

“We’re not giving out any details on the case. Like I said, it’s on security hold; the official word from the Coroner’s Office is that we completed the autopsy today, there’s no evidence of trauma to the body, and the cause of death is deferred until lab results and test results come back,” explains Kades for MTV.
