There has been a healthy influx of custom enclosures for Intel's small form factor personal computer known as the NUC, and Tranquil PC is joining the fun.

The company has revealed the passively cooled NUC-BY (for Intel D33217CK board) and NUC-YE (for Intel D33217GKE).

Both measure 110 x 164 x 47 mm / 4.33 x 6.45 x 1.85 inches and are made of aluminum, hence the lack of active coolers. The cases double as heatsinks.

In fact, the enclosures are ridged and chill the CPU, PCH and other hot components. The CPU should stay at a temperature of 5-15 °C lower than if the reference case were to be used.

Tranquil PC wants £99.00 in exchange for either chassis, which means $156 / 115 Euro, according to exchange rates at the time of this article's writing (January 28, 2013).
