Carrie Prejean, the self-titled “biblically correct” beauty queen that made headlines just recently for her take on marriage on the Miss USA beauty pageant, has just been stripped of her crown – only a month after Donald Trump let her keep it. Prejean has already been served the papers of termination and is doing the media rounds explaining that it was the pageant’s fault for her not fulfilling her contractual obligations, TMZ informs.

The celebrity gossip website / paparazzi agency managed to get a hold of the papers of termination before they were even sent out to Prejean, and it says the reason cited for the decision is that Miss California failed to attend several events although her presence there was regulated by contract. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. […] It has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.” excerpts from the documents read.

Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe and Miss USA organizations, has also addressed the issue publicly saying that, while he was more than willing to give Prejean a second chance, her behavior over the past month made it impossible. According to The Donald, as he’s often referred to in the media, Carrie initially seemed set on making this work but she’s been nothing short of dreadful ever since, including to every other member of the pageant organization, whom she’s treated “like [expletive],” in Trump’s own words.

Prejean, on the other hand, says that she did her part as stipulated by contract, and only backed out when pageant officials asked her to do things that were somewhat “below her,” TMZ also reports after speaking with her on the phone. Among such offers, Carrie says there was also one for doing the reality show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” and one for a photo spread for Playboy, both of which she turned down. Moreover, Prejean argues, having her fired at this point is only a political decision, so it’s understandable that the pageant is trying to justify it by placing all the blame on her.

“What’s behind this I think is a political debate. They don’t agree with the stance that I took [on Prop 8]. Shanna [Moakler] is trying to bash me. They don’t like me. From day one they wanted me out and they got what they wanted.” Prejean tells TMZ. As for treating pageant officials badly, this is, again, a blatant lie. “I’ve shown respect for every party involved, even when they haven’t shown it back. I was very respectful of people even when they slandered me and humiliated me. I have not once stooped down to their level.” the now-former Miss California explains. The new Miss California USA is Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.
