Are budget slates not cheap enough for you? Don’t worry, the tablet market still has something to offer. Carphone Warehouse has just slashed the price off its 7-inch Avoca Android tablet, dragging it down to a meager £49 / $79 / €57. It might just be the cheapest tablet we have seen so far.

So let’s see what you’ll get if you decide to go ahead and purchase it. The Avoca has been called a “family friendly” slate and offers 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The manufacturer has packed a 1GHz processor inside, coupled with 512GB of RAM.

Users will get to take advantage of the front 0.3-megapixel camera, but there’s none on the back. 8GB of storage are provided off the bat, with the possibility of extending it to 32GB via a microSD card.

Battery is said to last between 3.5 and 8 hours, thanks to its 3,000mAh accumulator. The slate comes in black, and customers can only grab the Wi-Fi model. Avoca is pretty light, weighing only 350 g / 0.77 pounds, so it can easily be handled with one hand.
