Canon has been the target of quite a few rumors in the past week, and now it's time to share another one with our readers. It seems that the company is preparing to announce two new 24-70mm lenses sometime in mid to late 2014, most probably at the Photokina event in September.

The company already has on the market two lenses that fit the 24-70mm focal length, an f/2.8 and an f/4 that bear the Canon “L” mark for professional-grade lenses.

According to CanonRumors, the Nippon manufacturer is planning to release a non-L 24-70mm lens with a variable aperture that will feature Canon's IS (Image Stabilization) and STM (Stepper Motor).

In addition to that, the second 24-70mm lens will be a stabilized EF 24-70 f/2.8L, but will not come as a replacement for the current EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, which will continue to be sold as a cheaper alternative.
