Earlier today we stumbled upon the very first leaked image with the upcoming Canon entry-level digital SLR camera, the Rebel T4 / 1200D / Kiss X70.

With only a few hours left before the official announcement is made, Digicameinfo has received from trusted sources an almost complete list of specs for the upcoming Canon DSLR model.

According to the aforementioned source, Canon EOS Kiss X70 / 1200D / Rebel T4 will come packed with an 18MP APS-C sensor, probably the same one found in the Rebel SL1 / EOS 100D / Kiss X7 model. Moreover, the camera will have a DIGIC 4 image processing engine.

Canon Rebel T4 will be capable of capturing up to 3 frames per second in continuous shooting mode (similar with EOS Rebel T3 / 1100D) and will feature a shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second to 30 seconds.

Low-light sensitivity is also the same as its predecessor, with an ISO sensitivity of up to ISO 6,400 that can be extended up to ISO 12,800 for extreme situations where using a flash is not an option.

The new Rebel T4 / EOS 1200D will also be capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video footage at 30 frames per second in MOV or MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 formats. The viewfinder comes with a pentamirror that covers a field of view of 95 percent and has a magnification of 0.8x.

Among other characteristics of the new Canon entry-level digital SLR, we can mention: a 460K-dot 3-inch LCD display monitor, final image simulation option, five creative filters, rubber grip, and SD, SDHC, SDXC memory card support.

The camera will use an LP-E10 battery, measures 129.6 x 99.7 x 77.9mm (5.1 x 3.9 x 3 inches), and weighs only 435g / 15oz, making it lighter than the previous Canon Rebel T3 / 1100D. The new Canon Rebel T4 / 1200D / Kiss X70 will be officially revealed tomorrow, February 12.
