Although Canon has yet to officially announce the G1 X Mark II compact digital camera, BestBuy has already listed the latest Canon flagship shooter as available for pre-order.

The last few days have brought lots of rumors about the G1 X Mark II and, thanks to that, we already know most of its specifications. For those of you who are not up to date with the latest news, here's what you can expect from the new Canon G1 X Mark II.

The G1 X successor comes with a 12.8MP 1.5'' CMOS sensor that offers a resolution of 4160 x 3120 at 3:2 aspect ratio and 13.1 effective megapixels when used at a 4:3 aspect ratio.

As previously rumored, the camera packs a longer lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-120mm and a maximum aperture of f/2-3.9. The lens also features dual control rings, which support customized functions, meaning that it can allow you to instantly change aperture and manual focus, just like traditional DSLR lenses.

The new DIGIC 6 image processor combined with the CMOS sensor creates the Canon HS SYSTEM that offers enhanced low-light capabilities and high ISO sensitivity of up to ISO 12,800.

The camera is also capable of capturing up to 5.2 frames per second in burst shooting mode and can record 1080p Full HD video footage. In order to quickly access and set up your shooting options, Canon G1 X Mark II comes equipped with a tiltable 3-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD display.

Canon's new compact flagship also features build-in Wi-Fi with NFC support that allows you to instantly transfer your photos and videos to compatible smart devices, but also offers the possibility to control the camera wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet.

Canon G1 X Mark II is now available for pre-order from the BestBuy online store at a price of $799.99 / €585. Availability is yet to be announced.
