If you have been eyeing the Canon EOS C100 digital cinema camera for some time but you needed a little push to go over the edge, you should know Canon has a cool promotion for you.

The photo gear maker has announced it will be awarding a free copy of Grass Valley’s EDIUS Pro 7 editing software free of charge for any Canon EOS C100.

There’s good news for those of you who brought the camera after 1 April: you too are eligible to receive the free goodie. The offer lasts until December 31, 2014, or August 31, 2014, if you’re in North America, so you still have some time to decide on the purchase.

You can enter in possession of the free copy by following the link and visiting the promotion website where you will be asked to register with your details.

The Grass Valley EDIUS Pro 7 editing soft supports the new Continuous Recording function that the EOS C100 comes equipped with. The new function was added with the firmware update version 1.0.3.100 back in February 2014.

What Continuous Recording does is allow photographers to add metadata markers in order to mark the most important parts of their footage without having to stop the camera.
