Last month, we were told the Canon EOS 7D Mark II got a little delayed due to some issues related to the manufacturing process of the Dual Pixel AF sensor.

This information might have sunken the ships of many who were eagerly awaiting the new camera, but a month later we’re ready to bounce back with some positive information.

According to the latest news provided by CanonWatch, a bunch of 7D Mark II cameras will be tested at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, by a group of select and lucky photographers.

The EOS 7D Mark II is the purported name of the EOD 7D replacement that was announced back in September 2009, a piece of information which hasn't been confirmed yet.

And after this brief guest appearance at FIFA, the camera will be officially unveiled at Photokina 2014, which is set to take place in September.

The Canon 7D Mark II is expected to arrive with an improved version of the Dual Pixel AF sensor, dual DIGIC V, 10fps, dual memory card slots and 61 AF points.

The camera should also arrive with a 3.2-inch LED screen, GPS and Wi-Fi. Its ISO performance has been set to be nearing that of the 5D3 and the suggested retail price revolves around the $2,199 / €1,592 margin.
