A month after being announced just before the CP+ exhibition in Tokyo, the Canon EOS 1200D entry-level DSLR camera has finally arrived in India.

The camera body will sell for Rs. 30,995 / €373 / $515, but there’s the possibility of getting the device with kits too, as follows. The EOS 1200D + 18-55 IS II lens will sell for Rs. 34.995 / €421 / $582 and EOS 1200D + 18-15 IS II & 55-250 IS II lenses for Rs. 39,995 / €481 / $665 (via NDTV).

The Canon EOS 1200D (or EOS Revel T5) comes equipped with an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor, a Digic 4 processor and ISO range of 100-6400 (boost up to 12,800) and 1080p/30 fps video capture.

The Canon EOS 1200D is marketed as being one of the most affordable DSLRS on the market. It also boasts a 9-point auto-focus system that gives more freedom to frame shot even if the subject is off center. The camera is compatible with more than 70 lenses from the EF range by Canon.

In terms of design, the 1200D is similar to its predecessor the EOS 1100D but with a slightly better build quality. The camera has a 3-inch 460k dot LCD screen on the rear side and includes Creative Filters, a special tool for adding your personal touch to the images.
