With Nikon rumored to already have a new D4-like body in production at its factory in Sendai, Canon is also preparing a new high megapixel professional camera body that will probably be revealed at Photokina 2014.

According to NorthlightImages, the new Canon EOS-1 is not going to come as a replacement for Canon's 1Dx model. The new 1Dx S or 1Ds X will be announced at a later date and will feature a “dual pixel” image sensor.

In addition to that, the EOS-1 will be promoted as a major advance for the Canon 1 professional series. It also seems that some of the lenses that Canon will release next year are “L” branded lenses, and it's possible that some of them will be announced at the same time with the new EOS-1 camera body.

This comes to confirm one of the previous rumors about Canon announcing a new L lens at the CP+ 2014 show that takes place in Tokyo, Japan from February 13 through February 16, 2014.
