Launching the world's Smallest DSRL camera is just one thing that Canon did over the past few days. It so happens that the company has a bunch of other cameras on the way, one of them being PowerShot SX280 HS.

This product isn't exactly a compromise between size and features. That would imply that some things were sacrificed on both sides of the equation.

Canon PowerShot SX280 HS is more than that, or so the company makes it sound. Canon says the product is an option for those that want small things but still the latest technological features.

The 12.1-megapixel sensor is the so-called heart of the device, although one might argue that the DIGIC 6 Image Processor qualifies better. The easiest way is to call them both the “heart” and leave it at that.

The light sensitivity is nothing fancy: a maximum of 6,400 ISO. It won't really capture starry night skies, but with a blitz, it should do fine at parties.

That goes for both photos and video, which can be recorded at up to 60 fps and with little to no blur, thanks to the Dynamic Image Stabilization technology.

Integrated Wi-Fi will allow for photos and video to be transferred to PCs, phones, tablets or whatever else, and social networking sites should be directly accessible too. The CameraWindow app will make all this happen.

“Canon recognizes the importance of capturing the highest quality images possible and sharing them instantly and easily. The PowerShot SX280 HS Digital Camera with its impressive features provides users the resources to shoot in almost any situation and the creative tools to help capture their vision,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, Canon’s executive vice president and general manager of its imaging technologies and communication group.

Canon's PowerShot SX280 photo and video camera will begin selling next month (April 2013) for the price of $329.99 / 255-329.99 Euro.
