Canada-based Video Games Plus (VGP), a major gaming website that commercializes games and console accessories has been breached after the hacker xdev@b4lc4nh4ck managed to bypass their security protocols.

Names, dates of birth, email addresses, phone numbers and encrypted passwords belonging to 21,000 of their users were leaked online. Apparently, no credit card information has been obtained by the hackers.

We have contacted VGP to learn if they’re aware of the incident and to find out if any measures have been taken to protect their customers.

The hacker xdev@b4lc4nh4ck is also the one responsible for breaching the online storage and file hosting website FileDen last week.

Yesterday a hacker claimed that he managed to breach Game.co.uk. While later it turned out that the data he leaked wasn’t actually from GAME, in this scenario the email accounts are from VGP’s servers.

Users who own an account of Video Games Plus are advised to immediately change their passwords.
