Konami has announced two special offers related to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the PlayStation Portable game set to arrive in about two months in Japan. The lengthy titled “Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Premium Package” will net the player a PlayStation Portable handheld, the older 3000 model, which is painted in camouflage models with skulls added.

The image is taken directly from the logo of Militaires Sans Frontieres, the mercenary organization that Naked Snake is leading. Players will also get a cloth to clean the PSP with and a carrying case.

The price of the package is 26,980 Yen, which is about 295 dollars. Those who want more can get the Limited Edition of the same package, which adds dog tags, a strap, a PlayStation Portable stand and other offerings for the price of 36,980 Yen. Only 1,974 of the Limited Edition bundles are on offer and they can solely be bought from the official website that Konami has for Japan. It's unclear whether publisher Konami is interested in offering the same two packages in the United States or in Europe.

It is interesting to see that Sony has not yet announced any deal related to the newer PlayStation Portable Go, the upgrade to the handheld platform featuring no UMD drive and a non-removable battery. It would make sense to bundle the device with a voucher allowing the player to get Peace Walker from the PSN Store and also offer a discount, boosting sales of the Go while also exposing a wider audience to the new Metal Gear title.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is set to arrive in Japan on March 18 and after a delay of more than two months, on May 25 and 27, North American and European gamers will also be able to experience the adventures of their beloved character on the PlayStation Portable.
