“Bad Teacher,” starring Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake, came out in 2011 and, despite rather disappointing reviews, went on to make a lot at the box office. CBS has just ordered a new series based on the film, it has emerged.
The foul-mouthed, incredibly gorgeous and smart, but also mean teacher will be played by Ari Graynor of “Fringe,” who takes over from Diaz.
She too will be a new divorcee forced to take up teaching again until she finds herself a new sugar daddy.
“Community's Winston penned the pilot and executive produces alongside Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who penned the screenplay for the film. Sam Hansen, Jimmy Miller and Sara Rodier also exec produce the Sony Pictures Television, CBS Television Studios and Mosaic single-camera comedy,” The Hollywood Reporter states.
Co-stars include Sara Gilbert, Ryan Hansen, David Alan Grier, and Kristin Davis.
