Call of Duty XP is almost here, so series creator, Infinity Ward, published a special video about the new conference, with its creative strategist, Robert Bowling, detailing some of the events that will take place this weekend for 6,000 lucky fans.

Activision wants to really hype up its Call of Duty franchise, so it decided earlier this year to host a special Call of Duty XP convention, dedicated solely to its most profitable series, which is going to be held this weekend in Los Angeles.

For a full brief of what's set to go down in the Californian city, Robert Bowling now stars in a special video showcasing some of the things in store for fans of the first person shooter series.

First up, Bowling confirms that the first major details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode will be revealed at Call of Duty XP and, what's more, there's actually going to be a live tournament held for the multiplayer mode, with the winning player going home with $1 million as a prize.

The special Modern Warfare 3 Specs Ops cooperative mode is also going to be playable at the convention, for those that just want to work together with another person against AI-controlled enemies.

It's not just about gaming at Call of Duty XP, however, as Bowling then presents real life recreations of Modern Warfare 2's Burger Town map, alongside Scrap Yard, in which two teams of 16 players will fight one another in paintball matches and prove they know how to wage war both in real life, not just in the virtual Call of Duty one.

The Infinity Ward executive also presented the recreation of Modern Warfare 2's infamous training area, The Pit, which can be experienced by players to see how they rank up against their virtual selves.

Call of Duty XP is held between September 2 and 3, and will see details about both Modern Warfare 3 and the special Elite service be revealed to the world.

Until then, check out Bowling's presentation below.
