Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the first person shooter from developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision Blizzard, has managed to get a consecutive fourth week at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart, increasing its chances of keeping the position until the end of the year.

Modern Warfare 3 has performed better than Black Ops, the previous title in the series, and has once again managed to deliver the multiplayer mode that fans have always found irresistible.

FIFA 12, the football simulator from EA Sports, has managed to stage quite the comeback in order to get second place in the United Kingdom video game chart, two months after its original launch date, to show that it has more staying power than other big releases of the fall.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the Ezio powered action adventure from Ubisoft, has lost one place in order to hang on to the last place on the podium by its hook blade.

Just Dance 3, the rhythm based game from the same French publisher, has also managed an impressive comeback in order to reach fourth position coming from eight, while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the open world first person role playing game from Bethesda, has slid down one position to fifth.

Saints Row: The Third, the open world action game from THQ and Volition, has seen the biggest drop in the top ten, going down to sixth place coming from third while Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call from Nintendo is standing still in seventh.

Mario Kart 7 from Nintendo is the only new entry in the United Kingdom chart and came in at number 8 while Battlefield 3 is also having a good run, keeping ninth position.

The top ten is closed down by Super Mario 3D Land, one of the first big hits for the Nintendo 3DS.
