The Game Developers Conference is in full swing these days and it is there that big publishers and developers showcase their future titles or reveal new and exciting details about the ones that will be appearing in the near future.

After the awards ceremony ended, Activision considered proper to unveil a teaser trailer of one of the most anticipated titles that would arrive at the end of the year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The sequel to Infinity Ward's award-winning title, it promises to deliver a modern perspective on the warfare that is currently being waged across the world.

The teaser trailer begins quite strangely, with the Infinity Ward logo, the studio responsible with the development, and a green waveform that showcases a few silhouettes. The background noises are similar to the ones heard on an airport, but they are quickly shut off as the characters enter an elevator. Once the doors are closed, a quick change of outfit begins, coupled with an assortment of weapons being locked and loaded.

A single line is heard from someone in the front of the main character, “Remember, the Russian,” hinting that at least part of the action will be centered on such a character. The elevator doors open to what appears to be an airport terminal and then a succession of green-tinted explosions and gunfire follows, in the spirit of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title.

Most importantly, this title also reveals the release date of the game, which is November 10, 2009, a date that will surely be circled for a lot of fans of first person shooters. In conclusion, Activision has already began the hype campaign that won't die down until the game reaches store shelves and the fans’ hands.

Here is the teaser trailer, courtesy of GameTrailers, which can also be viewed and thoroughly dissected on the official website of the game.
