The development team at Infinity Ward wants gamers to be familiar with all aspects of the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts when it is launched, so the studio is now offering more information on the Perk system and how gamers will be able to use it to improve performance.

In an official forum post, the company explains that all Perks have a value between 1 and 5 depending on how useful they are, with as many as 12 points available to all gamers to spend, but only 8 of them guaranteed.

Infinity Ward explains that, “a single Perk point is tied to the Primary Weapon slot, Secondary Weapon slot, Lethal and Tactical. Take away any one of these items for an additional Perk point, allowing a maximum of 12 points to spend. If you’re a Perk fanatic, you’re welcome to forego all weapons and equipment, starting each spawn with only a knife in hand and 12 points worth of Perks.”

Call of Duty: Ghosts will tie all Perks to a level where they are automatically unlocked, but Infinity Ward is also offering players the options of spending Squad Points in advance to open up an ability they love.

The first-person shooter will include seven categories, based on which area of the game a Perk affects.

Infinity Ward is also offering a quick look at some of the abilities it will include in the new title.

Speed - Sleight of Hand, Stalker Handling - On the Go, Steady Aim Stealth – Takedown, Incog Awareness – SitRep, Wiretap Resistance – Focus, Blast Shield Equipment - Extra Tactical, Extra Attachment Elite – Gambler, Ping

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be launched on the PC, the Wii U and current-gen consoles on November 5.

Much of the sales of the installment will be linked to the popularity of its multiplayer and developer Infinity Ward will try to keep the experience, including the Perk system, balanced via patches.
