Video game developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision are officially announcing that they will be launching the Invasion downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the older PS3 and the PC on July 3.

Gamers who pick up the new DLC will be able to access four new maps that are specifically designed to offer unique and interesting multiplayer experiences.

Pharaoh is set in an abandoned archeological site in an ancient Egyptian palace and is multilayered, which means gamers will have to explore to discover the best routes and more secrets with which to defeat their enemies.

Departed takes players to a small Mexican town on the day when the Dia de Los Muertos is celebrated and that means gamers can complete a field order to unlock access to the Death Mariachi, who come armed with dual wielding pistols and turn all enemies that they take down into one of their own.

With Mutiny the location changes to a pirate themed hdeout somewhere in the Caribbean, where gamers are able to summon ghostly members of the crew in order to send enemies to a watery death.

The final map is Favela, a re-imagined version of the classic title from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which includes a maze of connected rooftops and narrow passageways, with a kill streak that summons a powerful attack helicopter.

Call of Duty: Ghosts - Invasion also includes the Awakening episode for the Extinction mode.

The two companies state, " Descend into an alien underworld and strike at the mysterious puppet-masters behind the Cryptid invasion. Three new Cryptid species await players, along with some familiar enemies and allies."

Infinity Ward has said that it will launch another DLC pack for the first person shooter at some point during the summer, which will also arrive first on the Xbox One and the 360 and on the rest of the platforms after about one full month.

At the moment publisher Activision is working with developer Sledgehammer Games on a new Call of Duty experience called Advanced Warfare, which is set to be launched in early November on both next gen and current gen consoles.

The title will take gamers to the year 2054 and will include a raft of future technology, including powerful exo-skeletons, hover bikes and a rifle that can print its own ammunition.

The developers have promised innovative changes in both single and multiplayer modes.
