The development team at Infinity Ward and publisher Activision announce that Call of Duty: Ghosts is getting six new Personalization Packs and three new Character Packs on the Xbox Live service from Microsoft, which can be used by all players to tweak the appearance of their avatar during multiplayer matches.

The two companies are also offering all gamers access to the special weapons, the Ripper and the Maverick, that were originally included in the Onslaught and the Devastation downloadable content packs for the first-person shooter.

Each Personalization Pack includes a unique weapon camo, an aiming reticle, a character patch, playercard and a background, all for the price of 1.99 dollars or Euro.

The official announcement on the One of Swords blog states, "For fans of post-modern art, there's the Abstract personalization pack, which adds bright bursts of splattered ink to your weapons and player profile, while the Hydra brings the heat with flame-emblazoned graphics. For a more alternative vibe, there's the Skulls and Tattoo packs, which channel the undead and brandish nautical-themed ink."

The final two packs are Leopard and Nebula themed.

The Character Packs allow gamers to access Inferno, Bling, and Blunt Force, each offering a unique uniform and two options when it comes to headgear.

The same Personalization and Characters Packs for Call of Duty: Ghosts will be launched on PlayStation platforms and on the PC in about one month.

Call of Duty has long had a special relationship with Microsoft, which means that all DLC for the game is offered for a period of time only on the Xbox One and the older 360.

Infinity Ward and Activision are delivering more personalization options for Call of Duty: Ghosts in order to cater to the needs of the multiplayer focused community and to make sure that they stay connected with the title for as long as possible.

A final DLC pack for the first-person shooter will be launched before the end of summer and will probably introduce four new maps, one unique weapon and the finale episode of the Extinction cooperative game mode.

Once it arrives, most of the community will probably play for limited amounts of time, as it awaits the launch of this year's version of the shooter.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the next installment in the series, set to be offered in the fall of this year on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, current-gen consoles and the PC. It is being developed by the new team at Sledgehammer Games.
