14 DAY TRIAL // The Association for United Kingdom Interactive Entertainment has announced that sales charts for a variety of hardware devices for 2010, with Call of Duty: Black Ops, the first-person shooter from Treyarch and from Activision, being the overall best seller in the country, just as it has been in the United States.
The big surprise of the data is that Just Dance and its sequel, both from Ubisoft, managed to take first and third spots in the Wii powered chart, while the PC was dominated by the Sports Interactive made Football Manager, which took the first two places for both the 2010 and the 2011 versions.
Michael Rawlinson, the director general of UKIE said, “2010 was another strong year for the video games industry, with record breaking sales figures from games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops. 2010 also saw casual gaming really take off, particularly on social networking sites and on mobile phones. With more video games than ever before being played, on an ever growing range of games consoles, PCs, mobile phones, mobile devices and internet enabled TVs, the industry has widened beyond all expectations and will continue to expand exponentially in 2011.”
