Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, the upcoming first-person shooter exclusive to the PlayStation Vita, has just received an actual release date, with developer Nihilistic Software confirming that it’s out on November 13, at the same time as the full-fledged Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Black Ops Declassified promises to span the time between the first and second games in the Black Ops series, offering more insight into the fate of the characters and charting the progress of technology from the 1960s to 2025.

The game has now received a release date, as the CEO of developer Nihilistic Software, Robert Huebner, has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified will be out for the PS Vita on November 13.

What’s more, besides coming out on the same day as Black Ops II, the North American copies of Declassified will also include a special voucher that allows owners to download PSP classic Call of Duty: Roads to Victory on their Vita.

It’s unclear if this promotion applies to European copies of the game or to the special PS Vita bundle that was unveiled earlier this year at Gamescom 2012, so expect more announcements to be made until its release next month.

The Nihilistic CEO also pointed out that several improvements were made to the game’s graphics since the release of the first screenshots last summer, so players are in for a visually pleasing experience.

“The video and screenshots released at Gamescom showed early work in progress; we knew the final look of the game would continue to come together, so the reaction to the early footage wasn’t a big surprise,” he told Activision community manager Dan Amrich.

“Models were increased in resolution, particularly enemies and player weapons. Texture LOD was tweaked to use higher detail level textures, and things generally optimized across the board. The biggest visual improvement comes from doing final polished lighting passes on the environments.”

Expect to hear more about Black Ops 2 and Black Ops Declassified in the following weeks.
