The development team at Treyarch and publisher Activision seem to be fans of the Crysis universe, judging by the fact that they are naming two of the coming characters that will be available for multiplayer in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Prophet and Nomad.

They will be offered alongside Seraph, Ruin, Reaper and Outrider, with the various classes coming with a special ability and weapon, each designed to suit the play style of a segment of fans.

Prophet will be able to use a Lightning Gun that targets multiple enemies at once, and he can also teleport to a previous location, which makes it easy to get out of trouble in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Nomad will have a hive weapon that delivers traps that in turn deliver drones when enemies move past them.

The special ability for the character is named Rejack and allows players to quickly revive themselves, getting back into the match even when enemies believe them to be down.

Nine characters will be part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer setup and the development team says it will continue to tweak weapons and abilities until launch to create a well-balanced experience.

The video attached to this article shows the new nature of multiplayer for the series, with a new emphasis on speed and on the solid use of special abilities.

All Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC will be first offered on PlayStation 4 and PS3

One of the biggest announcements delivered at the Sony E3 2015 press conference is that the company has entered into a partnership with Activision, which secures the rights to timed exclusivity for all downloadable content for the shooter series, starting with the new installment.

This means that those who play Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3 will be able to enjoy new maps, new modes and more weapons about one month before those who choose the Xbox One, the 360 and the PC.

The structure of the title is focused around the advances that have modified the way warfare works in 2065, with a bigger role for robotics and for soldiers who have been augmented in different ways.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be launched on all platforms on November 6.
