Video game publisher Activision and specialist retailer GameStop are once more confirming that the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will have a special zombie-based mode and are also offering gamers a number of new deals built around the first-person shooter.

Apparently, gamers will have to get the Season Pass for the game in order to be able to battle the undead in one of the special stages of the Exo Survival mode, where the players form teams in order to take out waves of enemies.

An official document that AllGamesBeta managed to get access to states, “Stop by any GameStop to pick up one of the most anticipated games to launch this year, along with 4-multiplayer map packs, Atlas Gorge, and yes – ZOMBIES. All this is available for purchase today at GameStop as part of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare season pass for only $49.99.”

The retail chain is also continuing to promote the Day Zero edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which will be unlocked later today, 24 hours ahead of the official date, and will grant access to double experience for the day.

GameStop also offers special deals linked to the first-person shooter, allowing gamers to trade in a PS3 or an Xbox 360 in order to get credit towards the purchase of a PlayStation 4.

At the same time the Xbox One based Limited Edition for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which includes a 1 TB hard drive, is also offered for 449 dollars or Euro.

Call of Duty might be in decline

The deals are interesting, but they might be a sign that both GameStop and Activision are seeing a decline in the pre-orders for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and are trying to make sure that launch day goes as well as possible.

One analyst believes that by the end of the year the game might sell 40 percent less copies than Ghosts did last year.

Sledgehammer Games is introducing a variety of changes in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, with the multiplayer and the singleplayer now focused on the use of the exo-skeleton, which powers new movement options and the ability to avoid incoming attacks.

The studio says that the new experiences will attract both long-term fans and newcomers and says that it has a good mix of classic gameplay and innovation that will make the shooter attractive in the long term.
