The development team at Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision have finally launched the much awaited reveal video for the new cooperative game mode which will be part of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, called Exo Survival.

The footage does not introduce a wide array of information about the experience, but the two companies are saying that four players will be able to work together in order to try and survive a powerful assault from enemy forces.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is designed to introduce a powerful new tool for gamers to use, the exo-skeleton, which will increase their mobility and will allow them to reach new battle areas while also serving as a platform for a variety of new abilities.

Presumably, the development team at Sledgehammer Games will introduce more details about how Exo Survival will work in the coming days.

Given how Call of Duty: Ghosts handled cooperative experiences, it's highly likely that Activision will include new content for it in the downloadable content packs that will be launched for the new first-person shooter.

A focus on multiplayer

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a video game that will rely heavily on the multiplayer experience to satisfy both long-term fans of the franchise and to attract new ones.

Sledgehammer Games has promised that the modes that it plans to introduce, including entirely new ones like Uplink and Momentum, are designed to innovate, mainly by allowing players to execute new moves and to deploy new abilities based on the exo-skeleton.

The studio does plan to offer some game options which will not include the powered suit, but limited info has been offered about them.

The new Exo Survival cooperative battles will use a range of new maps that Sledgehammer Games has not talked about.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be out on November 4 on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and last-gen consoles, and gamers have the option to pick up a Day Zero edition of the title which will offer access one day earlier and will include double experience for a 24-hour period.

Activision has not announced DLC plans for the new shooter, but given the history of the franchise, it's highly likely that at least four full packs will be delivered all through 2015, with smaller updates offered to tweak core mechanics and improve balance.
