Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare might be about six months away from launch, but those gamers who want to make sure that they are able to play the new first-person shooter as soon as it is released could very well take advantage of the newly introduced offer from Sony and Activision.

The two companies are now offering the title for pre-order on the PlayStation 4 home console and the older PS3 right now and those who are willing to pay for it should be able to pre-load the whole experience and play it at midnight on November 4.

The exact phrasing of the text on the pre-order page is a bit nebulous at the moment but it states that, “Pre-order Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare now! Play the game on 11/4 starting midnight PST.”

Pre-loading is an important part of the current gaming experience because it gives the most hardcore of fans a chance to play the titles they love as soon as they are released, without having to go to a store and stand in line and without having to wait for a delivery during the next day.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare can also be played on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 and the PC and Activision will probably also deliver companion experiences for mobile devices.

The new installment in the long-running first-person shooter series is created by Sledgehammer Games, a team made up of some of the veterans who worked on the Dead Space franchise at Visceral Games.

The studio has said that it has been working on the title for a few years already and that it plans to introduce an experience that mixes classic mechanics with some innovative ideas.

The action takes place in 2054 when a powerful Private Military Company launches simultaneous strikes against all the national armies in the world.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will introduce a wide variety of new technology to the series, including a weapon that can manufacture its own bullets before firing them and a plasma rifle that’s designed for crowd control.

Gamers will also have access to hoverbikes, futuristic tanks and other items, including a powerful exoskeleton.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also push the boundaries of the classic multiplayer experience of the series but Sledgehammer Games is not yet willing to offer full details on the changes that it wants to implement.
